Announcing International Petit Verdot Day 2025

Merlot2muscadine is thrilled to announce the inaugural International Petit Verdot Day, a global celebration dedicated to one of the wine industry's most intriguing varietals, Petit Verdot, on Saturday, January 25, 2025. This event aims to bring together wine enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and producers around the globe together to honor and explore the unique characteristics and versatility of Petit Verdot.

It is hard to believe that of the many varietals we celebrate each year on wine calendars there is no day dedicated to Petit Verdot...until now! This intriguing varietal which dates back to the Bordeaux region of France is known to many as a blending grape, or the hidden gem. Globally it is enjoying a resurgence as a single varietal. No longer relegated to a role as a background singer, this noble varietal now has the microphone in a solo role, to the delight of many globally.

So, in the month of January which is virtually devoid of wine holidays let's gather around the world and pay tribute to Petit Verdot, the hidden gem.
